Camping floors have three main advantages, against which all other types of flooring go far into the shadow.
Environmental purity.
As you know, this is one hundred percent natural material. And besides, it does not burn on fire and does not rot in the water.
Cork is very great noise insulator
Thanks to such a property as depreciation, the load on the feet, the joints of the legs, and, accordingly, the spine, is very reduced.
I think that these qualities are already enough to stop their choice on them. In addition, they have a lot of other advantages, one of them, this is simplicity in the assembly.
Skilpage laying – preparatory work.
Laying a cork floor is practically no different from laying a laminate or laying a parquet board. As in all types of repair and construction work, it all begins to prepare the foundation. The base must be even. Deviations from the level and plane should not be more than 2 mm. on 1m. The basis, no matter what it is (concrete or wooden) should be tough, and not have cracks and voids. Although such floors are not afraid of moisture, it will not hurt waterproofing.
Laying a cork floor.
For clarity, we will divide the entire laying process into several stages.
1. We lay polyethylene with an overlap at junctions of at least 30 cm. At the same time, we do not forget to make the wage on the walls, it should be slightly higher than the level of the plinth. Excess polyethylene, after installing the skirting board, is cut off.
2. We lay the substrate. It is necessary to smooth out small irregularities and eliminate the noise from falling down, any things. We glue the joints of the substrates with tape.
3. The laying of the cork floor begins like the laminate from the doors, the deformation seams have not yet been canceled. The gap between the wall and the panels is fixed by spacers, withstanding a gap of 5 – 10mm..
4. We begin to lay the second row from the rest of the first row from the last panel. Thus, it is achieved almost without waste production. All subsequent rows are stacked in the same way.
5. To cover the deformation seams, in the doorways, use a special transition profile or ordinary metal thresholds. The thresholds cannot be rigidly attached, within the deformation seam, the floors should have a free move. In the places of adjacent to the door frame, the racks of the beam, you need to file to the height of the thickness of the panel.
6. When the floor is assembled, we remove the spacer wedges, and proceed with the fasteners of the skirting boards.
Laying cork floor on glue.
Laying a cork floor on glue is very different from laying in the method described above in that the panels can be laid without displacement relative to each other. Starting laying on glue, lay out a few tiles without glue. This is necessary in order to see the quality of the docking of the tiles and determine the boundaries of glue application. Glue for cork floors has a very strong setting and moving an incorrectly glued tile will be practically not possible.
Glue is applied both to the floor and on the panel itself with a gear spatula (“crest”). For better gluing and eliminating the differences between the panels, the edges need to be drunk with a rubber hammer. Each manufacturer of cork floors recommends using his special glue, listen to this advice, and purchase exactly the glue that the manufacturer recommends. Carefully read the instructions for the use of this or that glue.
