Water level – downtime and very effective tool used in private construction. But with all its simplicity, this tool quickly fails due to improper storage. In order for the level to serve for a long time, it is necessary to observe several simple rules when storing it. You need to choose the right place for storage. Ideally, a room protected from direct action of sunlight and other atmospheric influences is suitable. It is also necessary to take into account that the distance to heating devices emitting heat should be at least 1, 5 meters. Otherwise the tube may melt, and the level will become unusable.
When stored, avoid pipe bends. For this, some use coils, both purchased and homemade. But it is much more convenient and familiar to keep the level on the “clove”. Not on one nail, but drive a semicircle 3 – 5 pcs. To distribute level weight and avoid fractures and bends. Before winter storage, it is necessary to drain the water from the level. At first glance, it is very simple to do it, but in practice it turns out to be a rather difficult task. The main problem is the length of the level and a simple wave -like sorting of the hose does not give the desired result. With this method, most of the water will merge, but part of the water remains on the inner walls of the hose.
There are a few simple ways to completely drain the water from the level.
– wind up the level on the tree (pillar) in the spiral from the bottom up, and leave in this position for 5-10 minutes.
– Suspend the level for the middle to the tree or to anything else, and take the ends as far as possible and leave it for a while.
– In the presence of a slope on your site (and as the practice of perfectly even small areas shows), lay out the level on the ground along the slope and leave to drain for 5-10 minutes.
Observing these simple rules, the water level will last you for a long time.
